The Fat Lady Sings

album cover

In 1986 Nick formed The Fat Lady Sings in his native Dublin. They almost immediately decamped to London where, over the next three years they released a series of much-lauded independent singles and built up a huge following for their celebratory live shows before signing a major international recording deal with East West / Atlantic Records. They released two highly-praised albums - Twist (1991) and Johnson (1993) - and toured extensively in the UK, Europe and the USA before Nick decided to split the band in early 1994. In 2005, the release of a retrospective double album The Fat Lady Singles (& Opera Obscura) was accompanied by a brace of reunion shows in Dublin and London.
